Troy Davis
PRESS COMMUNIQUÉ
Paris, October 24, 2008
I was relieved to learn that the Federal Appeals Court in Georgia has stayed the execution of Troy Davis, scheduled for Monday. I welcome this stay, having issued a final call to the Governor of Georgia on behalf of Troy Davis two days ago.
France and the European Union will continue our mobilization, in keeping with our commitment to abolish the death penalty.
