I was appalled and saddened to learn of the terrorist attacks which struck Spain in Burgos and Majorca.
I want utterly to condemn these despicable and heinous acts and reiterate to you France’s determination to actively support you in your battle against ETA terrorism.
At this painful time, I wish to convey my most sincere condolences to the families of the two civil guards and express to the injured my deepest sympathy and full support.

France utterly condemns today’s terrorist attack in Majorca which killed two civil guards.
She extends her most sincere condolences to the bereaved.
After yesterday’s bombing in Burgos, France again expresses her deepest sympathy in the face of these vile acts.
France stands at the side of Spain and the Spanish people at this painful time and is making every effort to afford them unfailing support in the fight against terrorism. After the agreement signed in 2008, the April 2009 Franco-Spanish summit strengthened cooperation in the fight against terrorism with the creation of a committee for the planning and strategic coordination of internal security. This reflects our determination to provide integrated, permanent and operational cooperation with Spain, as President Sarkozy firmly pledged./.
