Resumption of diplomatic relations with Rwanda
France and Rwanda have today decided to resume diplomatic relations, broken off in 2006. This is the culmination of long and patient efforts between Paris and Kigali. These two countries, which bring together, at the same time, so much misunderstanding, shared culture and so many shared hopes, will resume their interdependent course of action. We will not forget the genocide of 1994. France will not forget any of the victims.
Having witnessed this massacre, I understand the magnitude of this political moment. Starting tomorrow we will devote ourselves to developing our joint projects.
