Yemen/UK ambassador attack
Paris, 26, April 2010
We were appalled to learn of Monday morning’s attack in Sana’a targeting the convoy of the British Ambassador. We are very pleased that he and those accompanying him escaped unharmed.
France utterly condemns this attack. She reaffirms the need for the international community to unite against this scourge.
We express our solidarity with the Yemeni government, which has to confront many challenges, including the terrorist threat. The international community’s response to these threats, as agreed at the London ministerial meeting on Yemen on 27 January, must be resolute and comprehensive, embracing political, economic and security issues, and formulated in cooperation with every country of the region.
Strict adherence to the constantly updated instructions regarding security in the “Conseils aux voyageurs” [travel advice] section of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs website is strongly recommended./.
