Death of Jean-Marcel Jeanneney
Paris, September 17, 2010
President Sarkozy wants to pay tribute to the memory of Jean-Marcel Jeanneney, a major figure from the Franche-Comté and historic Gaullist.
A well-known economist, he used his expertise to help rebuild France in the wake of the Second World War, before holding strategic ministerial posts in several of General de Gaulle’s governments. A man of conviction, he remained to the end of his life an influential voice in the public arena.
President Sarkozy extends his heartfelt condolences to M. Jeanneney’s family and close friends./.
