Côte d’Ivoire/update of recommendations
Paris, December 31, 2010
Since the second round of the presidential election of 28 November, Côte d’Ivoire has been experiencing an acute political crisis. Although foreign nationals have not been directly threatened to date, the French authorities repeat their advice to people to delay travel plans to Côte d’Ivoire and – to all those French people who can, particularly families with children – to leave Côte d’Ivoire temporarily pending a return to normal.
In this context, and as a precautionary measure, French schools will start the new term on 17 January and not 5 January as planned.
We are assessing the situation in real time. A new update will be provided in the week beginning 10 January./.
