Paris, July 28, 2011

Following the visit to France on 10 June 2011 by Mr Barakat, the NTC’s Health Minister, two French hospital directors will conduct a mission to Benghazi from 28 July to 3 August 2011.

This mission’s main objective is to respond to the needs of Benghazi’s hospital, a number of whose expatriate managerial staff have left the country.

France has been involved in providing equipment to and managing this hospital for more than two years. As soon as the town was liberated, she sent a humanitarian and medical mission – the first mission to go to the area to provide assistance to the population.

The French experts will also seek to identify the main opportunities for collaboration with Libya in the health field.

This mission signals France’s determination to develop strong cooperation in all areas with Libya in order to help the people.

This falls within the framework of a series of missions being conducted on the ground in other areas of cooperation./.
