Ambassador François Delattre Visits Utah
On March 28th to 29th, 2012, François Delattre, Ambassador of France to the United States, visited Utah for the first time since he was appointed in February 2011.
During his stay, Amb. Delattre met with distinguished public officials of Utah, visited French immersion programs in some of the state’s elementary schools, and gave a conference at Brigham Young University.
On Wednesday 28th, François Delattre, accompanied by Mr. Romain Serman, Consul General of France in San Francisco, visited the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, before heading to Brigham Young University, where he gave a lecture called “French-American Relations in 2012 : a Friendship at a Peak.”

On Thursday 29th, Amb. Delattre visited the French Dual Immersion program at Morningside Elementary School, a program that promotes French language in a creative environment. The Ambassador was accompanied by State Superintendent Larry Shumway, and Gregg Roberts, World Language Specialist (Utah State Office of Education.)

On the same morning, Amb. Delattre met with Gary R. Herbert, Governor for the State of Utah.
Ambassador Delattre’s visit to Utah ended with a luncheon hosted by the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce, State of Utah International Trade and Diplomacy Office, and the World Trade Center of Utah.
