On May 30, the District of Columbia Daughters of the American Revolution and Ambassador François Delattre conducted a wreath laying at the statue of Admiral Rochambeau in Lafayette Park. An enduring symbol of French-American friendship, the monument stands just steps from the White House. It was unveiled in May 1902 and is a replica of the one in Vendôme, France, Adm. Rochambeau’s birthplace.
