Central African Republic
Q. – For the Central African Republic, you’ve announced the imminent arrival in Bangui of European soldiers. They aren’t there; the promise has been broken. Will France, which already has 2,000 soldiers over there, have to send another 200, another 400 French soldiers?
THE MINISTER – This is why I reminded all my colleagues yesterday that Europe had made a pledge. For the moment, we haven’t got there and I asked them to make an extra effort.
Q. – It won’t be us sending soldiers?
THE MINISTER – Europe has to play its role. If we want European security, all those involved, when there’s an intervention, have to make an effort. France shouldn’t be the only one getting involved./.
