Economic Diplomacy: Ambassador Delattre highlights investment and innovation in Mobile
On Monday, March 31, a new great partnership between France and the US took place in Rochester, New Hampshire. Safran Aerospace Composites and Albany Engineered Composites, two companies partnering to manufacture light-weight blades for the new generation LEAP airplane engine, produced by Safran and General Electric, marked opening of a large production facility.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the French Ambassador in the US Francois Delattre, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte, U.S. Representative Carol Shea-Porter, and New Hampshire Governor, Maggie Hassan. Jean-Paul Herteman, President and CEO of Safran, and Joseph Morone, president and CEO of Albany International underlined that an identical sister plant in Commercy, France was being opened too. Albany and Safran expect to hire 400-500 employees on both side of the Atlantic by 2020 for this joint project.
