Ségolène Royal and Laurent Fabius had a meeting with Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, in Paris on Wednesday 5 November. Dr Pachauri presented them with the IPCC’s fifth report.

The [Ecology] Minister opened the conference by highlighting “the huge amount of outstanding work done over the past seven years by scientists from all countries.

“The Synthesis Report gives us keys to understanding what are also keys to action”, continued the Minister. Climate change “isn’t science fiction, it’s already a reality”.

A year ahead of the climate conference which will be held in Paris, the COP21, the [Ecology] Minister said there was still time to act: “Everyone, on their own scale, can act effectively in their everyday lives”./.
