Publié le July 7, 2016
On July 7, 2016, Ambassador Gérard Araud spoke to students in the international diplomacy program of the NSLC (National Student Leadership Conference).

The high school students were selected to take part in the program for displaying qualities of leadership and an interest in a career in international relations. The ambassador spoke about current issues affecting diplomatic relations today, and the role of embassies and Ambassadors in diplomacy in a globalized society.

During the International Diplomacy conferences, students gain leadership skills through hands-on workshops and leadership development exercises. They study current security issues facing the global community while participating in a simulation of the United Nations Security Council, learn about peacekeeping operations around the world and discuss global health, environment and human right issues.
