Fight against terrorism/Daesh/Syria/air strikes
At 7.30 p.m. (French time) on Monday 23 November 2015, the French armed forces carried out further strikes on Daesh [so-called ISIL] in Syria.
Led by six fighter aircraft, the raid destroyed an active site occupied by terrorist fighters in Raqqa.
From the deployable air base in Jordan, two French air force Mirage 2000s were engaged in the mission. At the same time, the French navy’s four Rafales joined them above Syria from the Charles-de-Gaulle aircraft carrier to carry out a raid on a site in Raqqa which was identified beforehand.
The crew made several strikes on infrastructure including a command centre, a vehicle storage area and maintenance facilities. The intended targets were destroyed./.
