La Cenerentola goes back to France, where her story began! The libretto for Rossini’s opera, by Jacopo Ferretti, is based on the French fairy tale "Cendrillon", by Charles Perrault.
Under the Gracious Patronage of H.E. the Ambassador of France to the United States, Gérard Araud, The Washington Opera Society presents a very special operatic event: La Cenerentola, by Gioachino Rossini.
Featuring: Magdalena Wór in the title role, Timothy Augustin as Prince Ramiro, with Elizabeth Treat, Gustavo Ahualli, Anamer Castrello, & Kwuangkyu Lee. Conducted by: Maestro Julien Benichou; Narrations by: Dr. Scott Beard.
