1. Burkina Faso - Statement by M. Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs (Paris,2018-03-02)

Several sites in Ouagadougou, including the French Embassy, have been targeted by attacks this morning. The Burkina Faso security forces are mobilized to combat the assailants, with the support of the forces responsible for ensuring the security of our embassy, in order to reduce the threat.

I want to assure all government personnel on site of my support. An interministerial crisis unit was immediately set up at the Quai d’Orsay. I have asked to be kept informed of developments in the situation in real time.

Safety instructions are being provided on an ongoing basis to the French nationals present in the area. Their safety is my priority./.
