Bonjour from La Nouvelle Orléans, Bonne Fête Nationale ! I was so happy to see Ambassador’ Etienne’s interview, and that he mentioned New Orleans ! I had the opportunity to meet him when he was here in 2019. Please remind him that I spoke to him about, OperaCréole’s (my company’) work around 19th Century New Orleans free classical composers of color and their relationship to France. My parents were married on the 14th of july, 1942. My father went on to france in August of 1944 and continued through Belgium and into Germany. He lost his only brother in the conflict. It was an overwhelming task that was never questioned or regretted. We live on in the world they fought to make free, and we stand together as close friends and brothers. Vive la France.
